Tired but satisfied we are
... but what a wonderful time we had again! The Christmas season and New Year are traditionally busy times for us and so were the past holidays. Of course throughout the year we are working solidly on the collection and also on commissioned jewelry. But starting in October, we've been busy trying to get all the jewelry and commissioned jewelry we get to make for under the Christmas tree finished in time. And we succeeded again! We started 2020 tired but satisfied....
It is always a pleasure to be able to create a personal jewel for the customer. For example, we are regularly asked to make a new and contemporary piece of jewelry from inherited gold or family gold, entirely according to the customer's taste. Old brooches with blood coral or classic rings with a large carnelian, jewelry that people no longer wear nowadays. The question is then whether I can make something modern out of it. Fortunately, anything is possible. We sit down with the customer and discuss all the possibilities. You can melt down the old gold and turn it into something completely new, but you can also choose to make an adjustment to the original piece of jewelry and turn it into a modern and unique jewel. Last year I was able to make a lot of pendants and rings from old wedding rings for example.
Of course, we also worked on the collection and expanded it especially. Especially the collection of ear studs and earrings we have added many colorful gemstones such as emerald, garnet, and of course black and white diamonds last year. One of the latest acquisitions is a beautiful set of shoulderdusters (slim long earrings) in 14kt yellow gold with a big emerald.
For the year 2020 there is again a lot of work on the agenda. The "Florence" collection will be expanded with a gold variant with saltwater pearl, and a new series will be added with the starting point again being architecture (as with "Amsterdam"), but this time the Moorish and Arabic architectural style. The new line will be called "Cordoba."
