The man struck twelve times, each time in a different place: Leusden, Bunschoten, Driebergen, Hoevelaken, Huizen, Zeist, Eemnes, Baarn, Soest, Bussum, Hilversum and De Bilt. All incidents took place from Tuesday, June 23 to Saturday, June 27. His modus operandi is always the same. The man rides a scooter past a woman cycling or walking and pulls the jewelry off the woman's neck or makes an attempt to do so. The victims are over-65s, usually over-80s. The victims often suffer from a sore neck or neck and bruises afterwards. One woman fell to the ground.
SIGNALEMENT The offender is a man with light complexion and hair about 20 to 30 years old. He has a normal, muscular build and is riding a scooter or similar vehicle.
